ABOUT ME
(PAT GALLAGHER, IF YOU HAVEN'T FIGURED THAT OUT BY NOW)

I make a living connecting people—to music, to stories, and to each other.
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked in radio and community-focused organizations, building brands, launching programs, and creating experiences that people actually want to be part of. Sometimes that happens behind a microphone, sometimes at a fundraiser or a starting line, and sometimes in a room full of people trying to make something good happen.
Radio has been a constant through it all. I’ve worked on air and behind the scenes at stations like Triple M, Magic 98, The Resistance, and The Corner, helping to create and develop standout radio stations along the way. I’ve shaped programming, mentored talent, been an on-air host, and helped stations grow audiences by sounding like real humans who care about the communities they serve.
One of the best perks of the job has been the conversations. I’ve interviewed artists such as David Gilmour, Sheryl Crow, Butch Vig, and Michael Franti, as well as a long list of other artists, athletes, nonprofit leaders, and local legends. Whether it’s a rock star or a volunteer, I’m always interested in the story behind the story.
Community has always been baked into my work. I’ve launched volunteer programs like Triple M’s Green Team, highlighted local nonprofits on air, and helped bring to life events like Ride the Drive, Taste of Madison, Ironman Wisconsin, plus more runs, rides, walks, races, and triathlons than I can count. I’m often the guy with the microphone at the finish line—or the guy in the race, depending on the day.
That same community focus led me to work with organizations like The River Food Pantry, where I served as Community Relations Director. I led fundraising and outreach, helped grow the pantry’s largest fundraiser by more than 30%, and played a role in evolving it into Sips & Slices, which has since raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for families facing food insecurity. I still serve on the pantry’s board, because staying involved matters.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time giving back through Tri 4 Schools / Active Youth Wisconsin, supporting youth activity and wellness, and staying active in the cycling, running, and triathlon worlds—as an athlete, advocate, and race announcer. I’ve also served on the board of the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation and remain deeply invested in causes that strengthen communities from the ground up.
At the core of everything I do is the same idea: create something people feel connected to, and they’ll show up. That might be for a radio show, a fundraiser, a community project, or a starting gun at 7 a.m.
If there’s a story to tell or a community to bring together, I’m in.
